  • Why do chinchillas need a dust bad?

In their native arid environment, chinchillas keep themselves clean by rolling in volcanic ash. Due to the density of their fur, chinchillas should never be bathed in water. Water can become trapped whiten a chinchillas fur and can lead to numerous health issues. Oxbow Chinchilla Poof! allows your pet to clean himself safely and naturally.

    How does it work?

    1. Oxbow Chinchilla Poof! Safety penetrates your chinchillas dense fur.
    2. Dust particles collect excess oil, dirt and moisture to keep pet clean, healthy and happy.
    3. The dust particles fall away naturally, taking dirt and oil with them.

    User Manuel

Bathe your chinchilla 2-4 times per week to remove excess oil and dirt and ensure the softness and healthy condition of his fur.  For bathing, use an appropriate dust bath house or stable container which cannot be tipped over.  Remove dust bath house from cage after 3-5 minutes to avoid soiling and over-exposure to dust.  If dust is soiled, remove and replace.  Use 1 inch of dust in the bath house or container for best results.  Oxbow recommends that you consult your veterinarian before using any chinchilla dust bath product if your pet is not acting normally or is sick.

Mijn chin had altijd etter in haar oogje. De dierenarts stond voor een raadsel. Na het gebruik van dit zand heeft ze het nooit meer gehad.
